求教啊！如何在js中操作本窗口的菜单栏等的隐藏和本窗口的大小?

在一个jsp页面中，我需要用js控制当前窗口的菜单栏、工具栏等为隐藏状态，同时还要控制当前窗口的大小，请问如何解决？

采用jquery的animate操作菜单栏的隐藏及缩小放大该窗口，例子：
